Hi I’m Jess! I’m a Wife, Mom and working career woman. I’ve always struggled with my weight mainly because of poor nutrition and lack of exercise. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had gestational diabetes. Although I’ve never had diabetes before my pregnancy, this was a huge wake up call to me to get my life together and take better care of my body so that I can be the best that I can be for my baby girl. One year postpartum I was still over 200 pounds and I felt stressed and depressed most of the time. I didn’t sleep well, I could barely find clothes that could fit, my bones ached from all the weight I carried and I just didn’t like myself. I finally got sick and tired of being sick and tired and after reading hundreds of weight loss stories I finally decided to take control back over my health and wellness and this time not to give up!
I began walking three times a week for 30 mins each time and gradually increased the time and exercise. I googled healthy meal plan options because I LOVE FOOD especially junk food and sweets. I increased my water intake and got more rest and slowly (very slowly might I add) but surely my body started transforming and I began renewing my mind.
It’s been a year and a half since my journey and I have lost 54 pounds so far! I had dreams of getting my joy and happiness back and I finally have it. I’m still a work in progress but I am so happy that THIS TIME I stayed consistent, this time I didn’t give up on me!
